Volunteer master naturalist Kathy Gardiner invites you to bring your pooch along on a 3- to 5-mile hike to view the mountain laurel in bloom in Bass River State Forest, Saturday, June 10 from 9 until approximately 11:30 a.m. Hikers without dogs are welcome as well.

Although the hike is free, there is an entrance fee in effect this time of year –$10 per car for New Jersey resident and $20 per car for out-of-state resident – so carpool if you can.

Meet at the forest office parking lot at 762 Stage Rd. in Bass River. Bring lunch, water and insect repellent. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and severe weather cancels.

There is a limit of 15 dogs so register by contacting the forest office at 609-296-1114.  Further information is on the website, njparksandforests.org.
