Grunin Center Presents ‘Broadway’s Next H!t Musical’ Oct. 26

Oct 17, 2018

Every song is fresh. Every scene is new. Every night is different. It’s all improvised and it’s all funny. The hysterical “Broadway’s Next H!t Musical” is the only unscripted theatrical awards show, and it’s coming to the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26.

As the college explains, “Master improvisers gather made-up, hit song suggestions from the audience and create a spontaneous evening of music, humor and laughter. The audience votes for its favorite song and watches as the cast turns it into a full-blown improvised musical – complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue, and plot twists galore.”

“Broadway’s Next H!t Musical,” said The New York Times, is “hilarious!” TheaterWeek hailed the show as “brilliant,” and The New York Post called it “remarkable.” Time Out NY noted: “At last! A musical of, for, and by the people.”

Tickets are $35 to $39, and can be purchased online at grunincenter.org; by phone at 732-255-0500; or in person at the Grunin Center Box Office, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ask about group and student rates.

92.7 WOBM is the official media sponsor of the 2018-19 Grunin Center season. The Grunin Center is located on the OCC main campus, on College Drive in Toms River. —J.K.-H.
