Hail to the Chief

Sep 05, 2018

To the Editor:

On Labor Day, Sept. 2, our street, 94th, celebrated the life of Jon Harrison. It has been an honor to know Jon. He was a Long Beach Township resident his whole life, a lifeguard and chief of the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol, neighbor and friend.

Everyone who knew him will miss him. However, he will always be in our hearts and lives.

Special thanks to LBTBP lifeguards Tracey Schmidt, Josh Bligh and Ryan Williams; Sherman Baldwin of the Coast Guard; Ship Bottom lifeguards; LBT Police Department; LBTBP photographer Jack; Ann O’Connell, RSM; Garden State Surf & Art for the beach bench; Jim and Terrance Smith; the Kulpa family; the Naisby family, Kim Sparks for flowers; Food from Bacon Me Crazy, NJ, Mike and Karen; Joey’s Pizza; Ship Bottom Shellfish; and all the neighbors who supported our celebration of Jon’s life.
