‘Hot Rods and Heroes’ Show in Barnegat Nov. 10

Oct 31, 2018

The Barnegat/Waretown Chamber of Commerce holds a “Hot Rods and Heroes” classic car and truck show on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the municipal parking lot on Route 9 at East Bay Avenue in Barnegat. Admission is free. Bill Clanton Jr., chamber president, said proceeds from registration fees will benefit the Barnegat Community Fund. The public is invited to bring a nonperishable food item for the Barnegat Food Pantry when attending the car show.

“Last year was our first show, and unfortunately it got very cold and a lot of people who wanted to show their cars couldn’t get them started,” he said. “We’re hoping for milder weather this time.”

In addition, the chamber invites the community to join the American Legion and VFW chapters for a Veterans Day service on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Fred Watts Gazebo Park at the intersection of Route 9 and East Bay Avenue.

“Last year, Veterans Day was on the day of the show, so many people were in attendance,” said Clanton.
