House Tour and Cocktail Party to Benefit Mordecai Land Trust Set for July 21

Jul 18, 2018

Preserving land beneficial to wildlife as well as the human population is an important effort on and around Long Beach Island, and those interested in doing so have an opportunity to play a role in the mission of the Mordecai Land Trust during its annual House Tour and Cocktail Party at Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club on Saturday, July 21.

The event is from 2 to 8 p.m. The house tour will be from 2 to 6 p.m., followed by the cocktail party at LEHYC in Beach Haven. Tickets for the house tour and cocktail party are $60 per person, while attending either one will cost $50 per person.

Mordecai Land Trust is a community-based organization whose mission is to preserve Mordecai Island as a habitat for breeding and migratory species of indigenous birds and fish and to protect large portions of Beach Haven proper from flooding. Proceeds benefit the group’s efforts to stabilize and prevent additional erosion of Mordecai Island.

For last year’s event, more than 400 tickets were purchased – a record for the trust. To purchase tickets for this year’s house tour and cocktail party, visit mordecaimatters.org or call the yacht club at 609-492-2529 or Wyndecrest Home at 609-492-7030.  —D.B.
