In Our Hearts

Jul 18, 2018

To the Editor:

The words “thank you” cannot begin to express our gratitude to the Beach Haven community and beyond its boundaries. The number of people attending the memorial service for Ed “Eddie” Kohlmeir was a reflection of the love and respect that everyone had for him. Many tears were shed.

The expression “He’s with God in heaven” could not have been more apparent when a rainbow appeared directly above the Pearl Street pavilion during the service. Given the weather conditions, no one could have ever predicted that to happen, let alone at that exact time.

We received countless calls, emails and sympathy cards from friends and family. Saying goodbye to a loved one too soon may well be the most emotional experience that we have to deal with in our lifetime. All of us have heard the expression “Time will heal the pain.” To those individuals whose lives he touched we pray that the pain will someday be overcome by the fond memories we have of him.

Ed will be in our hearts and thoughts for the remaining time we spend on this Earth. We will miss him.

Our sincere appreciation to everyone who helped us to get through this difficult time.

Ed Kohlmeir Sr. and family
