Input Sessions Scheduled for Search for New Pinelands Regional School Superintendent

Sep 13, 2017

The Pinelands Regional School District is seeking a new superintendent of schools, and the New Jersey School Boards Association, which is conducting the search for the district, wants to hear what the district’s staff, administrators, students, parents and members of the community would like to see in the next top administrator. So Mary Ann Friedman and Jane Kershner of the New Jersey School Boards Association have scheduled a series of input sessions for Monday, Oct. 2.

Starting at 2:30 p.m., Friedman and Kershner will listen to the concerns and recommendations of the high school staff in a meeting to take place in the high school media center.

At 3:30 p.m., the women will move across the street to the junior high school media center to meet with the junior high school staff. Come 4:30 p.m., district administrators will have their meeting, again at the junior high school media center.

Students, parents and members of the community will have their chance to talk with Friedman and Kershner starting at 6:30 p.m. at the high school media center.

The NJSBA representatives will explain the search procedure and the roles played by the Pinelands Regional Board of Education, the district staff and the public during the process. The calendar for the actual search will also be sketched out.

Discussion will center on the strengths, concerns, ongoing issues and future initiatives that will face the new superintendent. Information gathered, together with input from other focus groups, will be used to shape a variety of candidate review documents and the interview questions.

Can’t make the input sessions? Fear not. Two online surveys have also been developed. They are already available on the district website, pinelandsregional.org. Visit the website and look for the superintendent search section for links to the surveys. —R.M.
