‘Jaws’ Comes to Bayview Park Aug. 30

Aug 22, 2018

Grab a chair, a float or a boat to view the classic film “Jaws” from the safety of Bayview Park in Brant Beach on Thursday, Aug. 30. Long Beach Township, with the help of Eye to Eye Media, will present the movie on an 18-foot screen, with theater sound, beginning at 7 p.m.

The entire event runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with food available to purchase on site from Sunny Rae’s Kitchen.

Peter Benchley penned the novel “Jaws” in 1974, in part inspired by shark attacks on the Jersey Shore – including off Long Beach Island – in 1916.

In 1975, Steven Spielberg directed the famous film, in which a massive great white shark attacks beachgoers in a fictional New England resort town. Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss star in the movie, the screenplay for which is credited to Benchley and actor-writer Carl Gottlieb.
