Lagoon High-‘Lights’

Aug 30, 2017

To the Editor:

“Light up the Lagoon” was a radiant occasion this past Saturday night. The annual event held in the lagoon along Beach Haven West Boulevard was quite the high-“light” of the weekend.

Homes along the waterway were decked out with dazzling ornaments and luminous lights. Neighbors watched as approximately 40 boats participated in a parade. Each vessel was lit up with amazing colorful lights and some even had themes such as hula girls, Christmas trees and Santas, and bagpipers.

One spectacular boat had loud ’50s music, laser lights and dancers. Onlookers joined in each time this musical boat cruised by with its crew singing, dancing and grooving to the music. Jim, known to some as “Choppo,” was the captain of this highly-decorated party pontoon that deserves to be credited for the most creative boat of the night.

The residents of Beach Haven West showed tremendous spirit for their community on this festive summer night.
