LBI Foundation Holiday Market Features Locally Handmade Gifts

Nov 14, 2018

Shop locally this season, at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences’ 2018 Holiday Market. This month-long event runs Nov. 17 through Dec. 16, with a special one-day-only festival on Nov. 24, during Small Business Saturday.

The LBIF Holiday Market “will be exhibiting handmade crafts and fine art created by local and regional artists,” said Jillian Schratz, LBIF membership and community coordinator. “Visitors can expect to find beautiful, unique work in a range of mediums, including jewelry, pottery, clothing, photography, home goods and more. This is the perfect way to start your holiday shopping or pick up something one-of-a-kind for yourself!”

And from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, the Small Business Saturday Holiday Market Festival will feature fire pits, live music, food and drink vendors – and lots of shopping! Local musician Sahara Moon will perform from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by Greg Warren from 3 to 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase from The Coffee Bouteaque, Sunny Rae’s food truck and the Barrel Mobile.

“Bring the whole family to get unique photos with a vintage truck, courtesy of the Surf City Fire Department,” Schratz encourages. “There will also be community organizations set up at booths throughout the property, including ReClam the Bay, which will be serving up clams and seafood soup.”

The Foundation offered special thanks to the following sponsors: Dan Hoch Landscaping, for the donation of decorations to furnish the LBIF with a holiday vibe, and Rustic Drift, for a donation of furniture to be used during the Holiday Market Festival, so patrons can gather around the fireplace.

Beginning the 17th, indoor artist displays will be on view and ready-to-shop during regular gallery hours, Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
