LBI Library Invites Community to Family Fair June 22

The Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City will kick off the summer reading program with games, crafts and local community partners during a family fair on Thursday, June 22. Topics include family literacy, health, safety and more.

The schedule of events begins at 10:30 a.m. with “Stories and Family Literacy” with author Doug Snelson. At 11:30 a.m., Jessica Carroll will perform “Songs to Know and Love.” At 1:15 p.m., there will be a meet and greet with Long Beach Township Police Officer Megan Keller, who is a community policing specialist. At 2, Ann Pepe of the Long Beach Island Health Department will discuss sun and sugar safety.

Cindy Cubelo of the Friends of the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter will discuss dog safety at 2:45.

Various crafts and summer reading club registration will take place all day. The reading club theme is “Build a Better World.”
