The LBI Pancake House, at 2111 Long Beach Blvd. in Ship Bottom, is now open under new ownership. The Pancake House will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until its grand opening June 23, after which it will be open seven days a week.

The Bilcik family purchased the LBI Pancake House on May 7 from the Waldron family, who ran the staple Long Beach Island breakfast spot for 10 years. The Bilciks have been spending their summer vacations on Long Beach Island for 25 years and each time, the LBI Pancake House was their first stop for breakfast. Now, after over two decades and several generations of vacationing on LBI, they are honored to join the local community and continue the legacy of the Pancake House.

“Thank you so much to the Waldron Family for all their years with the LBI Pancake House, and for passing the ceremonial ‘spatula’ on to our family,” Victor Bilcik said in a statement. “Our family is so excited and are so grateful for this opportunity to keep a tradition alive and continue to make fantastic memories while meeting and making friends old and new. And of course, thank you to all our loyal and future customers.”

The new owners of the LBI Pancake House are pleased to offer a 20 percent discount to veterans, service members and first responders, as well as a 10 percent discount to LBI lifeguards. Eligible guests may enjoy these discounts on weekends until June 23, after which they will be available Monday through Friday. See the management for details.

Victor Bilcik and his wife, Christine, have dreamed of owning a restaurant for as long as they can remember. As the grand opening approaches, they said they never could have imagined that 25 years after their first time at the Pancake House, they would be fulfilling their dream at the iconic Island landmark.

“When our kids were young, they always called the Pancake House ‘our restaurant’ when we came down for our family vacations,” Victor said. “Now it is.”

A patron who has been enjoying the restaurant every year on vacation from Virginia said as he was going out the door on Sunday that this year’s new experience was “lovely,” the staff friendly, and “their bacon is the best.”

The heavenly aroma when entering was the golden brown pancakes and waffles created fresh in the kitchen – the same recipe that past Pancake House customers loved.

Summed up the owners, “The LBI Pancake House is a premier destination on Long Beach Island for all things breakfast. We serve the best pancakes and fresh squeezed orange juice around, served by the friendliest staff.”
