‘Lenny Rivera Pop Art’ Featured at Barnegat Library

Jul 04, 2018

The Barnegat branch of the Ocean County Library will feature a “Lenny Rivera Pop Art Exhibit” during the month of July. Rivera works in line art with computer color, a style used in comic books and graphic novels worldwide.

“I was born and raised in New York,” he said. “As far back as I can remember I was always into movies and comics, my two great passions in life. I started to draw at an early age and am mostly self-taught. The tools I use are traditional pencil and ink, and then I use Photoshop to create the color art, add effects, and to make manipulations and corrections. I also use acrylics and watercolors to do paintings, and professional quality markers to do sketches.”

Rivers said one of his favorite fictional characters is Wonder Woman because she “represents compassion and strength.”
