Nov 07, 2017

Key Arts Productions presents “Let Freedom Sing” on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library. The multimedia concert explains how music can move and motivate people to action, such as songs sung in picket lines, demonstrations and jail cells as people fought for justice and equality.

Producer Joe Patterson, narrator and pianist, will be joined by singers Jeremy Isaac and Wendi Grantham, who will perform songs of Marvin Gaye, Bob Dylan, the Staples Singers and Curtis Mayfield among others. Historic film footage will also be shown.

Participants are invited to sing along.

“We want the audience to experience the power of these uplifting songs,” said Patterson, whose group is based in Philadelphia..

To register for the program, call the branch at 609-597-3381. —E.E.
