Apr 30, 2018

On Sunday, May 6, at  4 p.m., Holy Innocents’ Episocal Church in Beach Haven presents “Shelter from Ordinary Things” featuring Lieding Ladies” (loosely translated “Ladies of Song”). The group consists of cellist Halley Feaster, pianist Spenser Prichard Gallo and vocalist Chloe Dondero. The program is the third event in the church’s spring concert series.

“These young artists will grace us with a program featuring works by Andre Previn including the seldom-performed  ‘Vocalise’ for soprano, piano and cello, as well as Previn’s ‘Four Songs,’” said Ellen Dondero, event coordinator and the church’s minister of music.

She said the second half will include some familiar folk and popular songs by Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michaelson, as well as some original compositions, and arrangements by the artists themselves.

There will be a free will offering taken, and a reception will follow the performance.

The concert series finale is Sunday, June 10, at 4 p.m. featuring the Capital Singers of Trenton in “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing.”
