Little Egg Harbor, Beach Haven Lighting Christmas Trees This Saturday

Dec 05, 2018

Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet?

Don’t worry, there is still plenty of time, as evidenced by two Southern Ocean County municipalities that will light their community trees this Saturday, Dec. 8.

The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. in Little Egg Harbor with a tree lighting that will run through 8 p.m. at the Edward Thornton Community Center in Mystic Island. Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to arrive at 5:30 and folks are welcome to bring their cameras to have their pictures taken with the jolly couple.

Meanwhile, Beach Haven’s tree lighting and associated activities are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park and the LBI Historical Museum. There will be caroling and Santa will make an appearance.

Kids love to see Christmas trees come to life. They also are thrilled when a tree features a decoration made by their very own little hands. So they may be interested in a “Make a Holiday Ornament” event at the Little Egg Harbor Branch of the Ocean County Library at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6. The event is designed for children 4 and older. Call 609-294-1197 or visit the library to register.  —R.M.
