Little Egg Harbor Lines Up Two Fun Fall Events

Sep 21, 2018

Two events in Little Egg Harbor Township celebrate the wonders of fall. Around 60 cars, trucks or SUVs have already been signed up to participate in the “Trunk or Treat” at the Little Egg Harbor Community Center on Friday, Oct. 19 starting at 6 p.m.

Daniel Boone, recreation activities chairman for the event, said additional sponsors are still welcome to contact him at 609-709-7944. “Last year we gave out 2,450 pounds of candy to over 3,000 children in the 2½ hours of the event,” said Boone.

Decorated cars line up in the parking lot of the community center at 319 West Calabreeze Way to allow children to trick or treat from their trunks in a safe and supervised area.

The center also has barbecue available while supplies last and a haunted maze. A Halloween costume contest will be judged with prizes in a variety of categories. After dark attendees watch the original “Ghostbusters” on the outside wall of the center. This event plus the next one is free.

The Little Egg Harbor Chamber of Commerce is in the midst of planning a Fall Harvest Festival on Nov. 3 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Little Egg Harbor Recreation Fields off Route 539. The new chamber is expecting 3,000 people to attend the event that will include emergency vehicles for a touch-a-truck experience for kids, a number of food trucks, a bounce house and fun games for the children plus a tug of war between the LEHT police department and a volunteer fire company to be announced. More will be revealed as the date approaches.  —P.J.
