Local Photographer Displaying at Barnegat Library This Month

Dec 05, 2018

The Barnegat branch of the Ocean County Library hosts an exhibit by local photographer Frank Grasso throughout December. Grasso said most of his photos are taken in the Pinelands and around Barnegat Bay and other local waterways.

“I took some of the photos while hiking in various state and county parks,” he said. “There are also pictures of egrets and various shore birds.”

Grasso said he developed an interest in photography while growing up in North Jersey .

“I still have my original Brownie Hawkeye I got when I was 8 years old,” he said.

After retiring as a carpenter, Grasso said he moved to Barnegat 18 years ago and rekindled his love for photography.

“I’ve always loved the outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking, and there are many opportunities for that here,” he said. “It’s very scenic and a perfect place for taking photos.”
