Local filmmakers Oak Leaf Media are holding a test screening of a work-in-progress documentary. The free event starts at 3:30 p.m. and the screening will be at 5. Episodes of local surf writer Jon Coen's documentary series "Just Beneath the Surface" will play all day.

The event is an attempt to re-create the surf movie screenings in the 60s and 70s. Oak Leaf Media will be filming the screening as a scene to be added to the film, and all are invited to brig surfing footage, photos and stories.

Brendan Walsh, director and editor at Oak Leaf Media said, "We want people to come see where the film is at and poke some holes in it. We want everyone who has been a part of LBI surfing to have a part in the movie. The film isn't finished, but the screening will be about 40 minutes and will give everyone a sense of what we are making. We will have a questionnaire so that everyone can give us feedback and input."

Come enjoy popcorn, local beer brewed by Manafirkin and local film.
