Long Beach Island PTA Wins Healthy Lifestyles Award

Feb 14, 2018

The Long Beach Island Parent Teacher Association has been selected to receive the Healthy Lifestyles Award from the New Jersey PTA. All local PTA awards will be presented at next month’s NJPTA Leadership Convention.

In addition to healthy lifestyles, the state organization recognizes districts for their efforts related to diversity and inclusion, environmental awareness, arts in education, family engagement and more.

“Local PTA units bring amazing, innovative programs and services to children and families every day,” said Lisa M. Falco, NJPTA awards chairman. “These achievement awards are given each year to recognize and share units’ special and unique programs.”

The National PTA emphasizes a Healthy Lifestyles Initiative, which provides local PTAs with education and tools to partner with schools and advocate for nutritional meals, regular physical activity and wellness policies within a district. —J.K.H.
