Long Beach Township Hosts Halloween Hayride, Festivities in Bayview Park

Oct 19, 2016

Get in the spirit of Halloween with a haunted hayride – and other seasonal festivities – in Brant Beach on Saturday, Oct. 29. Families are invited to take part in the fun, for free, from 1 to 3 p.m. in Bayview Park.

The hayride, run by the Long Beach Township Department of Public Works, will depart the park and travel up to the beach for pumpkin “picking,” Community Policing Office Megan Keller explained.

Back at the park, youngsters can enjoy pumpkin painting, balloon art, Halloween crafting and music from WBNJ. Magician Mark Wurst, meanwhile, will entertain all ages with his comedy magic.

Halloween treats will include vegan cookies donated by Livin’ on the Veg, organic lollipops from Pangaea, apple cider and coffee from How You Brewin’ and other healthful snacks from Acme Market.

And, noted Keller, “Every child who participates in our event will receive an Acme bag to go to the Acme that day and trick-or-treat at the store for free.”

In case of rain, the event will be held in the courtroom at the Long Beach Township municipal complex, across the Boulevard from Bayview Park. —J.K.-H.
