Long Beach Township Seasonal Beach Badges Available at Early Rate Until June 15

May 22, 2017

Summer is drawing near, and, accordingly, seasonal beach badges for Long Beach Township are now available at the early rate of $30 – but only through June 15. Beginning June 16, the cost increases to $40.

Weekly badges are $20 – with the week designated as Saturday through Friday – and the cost for a daily badge is $7.

Senior 65 and older pay just $5 for a seasonal badge, which must be purchased in person at the beach badge office on 68th Street in Brant Beach, with valid proof of age. Senior badges issued prior to the 2010 season – a white badge with red and blue logo – are lifetime badges. If senior badges are lost or misplaced, replacement badges can be purchased for $5 each for the current season.

Seasonal beach badges for military veterans, meanwhile, can be obtained at no cost with valid military identification (DD-214, for example) at the beach badge office.

The badge office is open now through Labor Day. Hours are as follows: from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and on any holidays.

Standard seasonal beach badges can be purchased only at the beach badge office, or use the form available at lbtbp.com/beach-badges to purchase through the mail. The mail-order form is not accepted for senior citizen or veteran badges.

Seasonal badges and senior badges can not be purchased on the beach during the summer. Weekly and daily badges, though, can be purchased only on the beach, from a beach badge checker.

Beach badges are required for all persons age 12 and older on township beaches from June 17 through Sept. 4.
