Medical Center Names Barnegat Man ‘Guardian Angel’

Nov 08, 2017

Shore Medical Center in Somers Point recently recognized Senior Financial Officer Julio Arguello as its October Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. The 54-year-old Arguello is a 13-year resident of Barnegat Township.

Beth Ann Spiegel, marketing coordinator, said the Guardian Angel program was established to enable members of the community to say “thank you” to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.

Arguello came to Shore Medical Center four years ago. In his role as senior financial officer, Arguello oversees the team that supports patients or their loved ones with managing medical bills after a hospital visit.

“I was nominated by someone who I had helped in the application process for getting financial assistance,” said Arguello. “With medical costs as they are, a lot of people need help so I am glad that I help people with their bills.”

“Julio is a very hardworking and outgoing employee, who treats each patient with compassion,” says Ed Quigley, director of healthcare access. “His caring and considerate approach has helped numerous patients and their families access resources and programs to help them afford care.”  —E.E.
