New Date: Farias Showing of ‘A Plastic Ocean’ Aug. 14

Aug 06, 2018

A local viewing of “A Plastic Ocean” will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14, outside of Farias Surf and Sport, 2800 Long Beach Blvd. in Ship Bottom. The 2016 documentary movie logs scientific fact about how plastics break into small particulates once they enter the ocean, and impact the food chain by attracting toxins. The toxins are stored in the fatty tissues of marine life, and eventually are consumed by humans.

Start time for the movie is 8 p.m. Be sure to be on time and to bring a beach chair for comfort. There is no rain date for the movie in the event Mother Nature approves unsettled weather conditions. Note the initial showing was slated for Wednesday, Aug. 15. The movie will not be shown then. G.G.S.
