No D in HC

Mar 21, 2018

To the Editor:

It was very disappointing, to say the least, to hear that the local LBI staple reggae band No Discipline was not invited back to participate in the 2018 Sunset Park summer series in Harvey Cedars.

No Discipline was the first band to play the concert series 30 years ago, and has been a deep-seated part of the Long Beach Island musical entertainment scene for decades. In fact, this unique musical group has been featured in this publication on more than one occasion over the years, simply because of their island flare, musical talent and ability to bring smiles to the faces of vacationing guests and locals.

The park was packed last year when the band performed, leaving No D followers extremely bewildered and saddened by the Harvey Cedars park committee’s decision to sideline the band in 2018. What gives, guys?

For those interested in seeing No Discipline this upcoming spring and summer, I’d recommend frequently checking their website at nodiscipline.com for up-to-date appearances. Fortunately, for those planning to be on LBI this August, Barnegat Light has scheduled the band to appear at their outdoor concert series on Monday, Aug. 13. Thank you, Barnegat Light!
