Ocean County College Holds Free Drone Clinic for Kids

May 09, 2018

Let your kids take flight! A limited number of slots are available for a free drone clinic for children at Ocean County County on Sunday, May 20. The clinic, sponsored by OCC’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education, runs from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Drobots, a nationwide provider of Drone and Aerial Robotics STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) summer camp programs, is hosting the clinic. As OCC explained, “Drobots is an award-winning program based out of Annapolis, Maryland. They have worked with NASA, Bell Helicopter, 20th Century Fox and hundreds of schools all over the country, serving tens of thousands of students.

“Free STEM Drone Clinics have been created so that the curriculum team and the summer camp instructors at Drobots may test some of their new lesson plans and activities for the 2018 summer camp season.”

Participants will work with members of Drobots’s full-time team and some of their new summer camp instructors.

“All involved will enjoy 1.5 hours of learning and pure fun!” the college noted. “No need to bring anything other than a positive attitude, a smile and the willingness to participate.”
