Ocean County College, Stockton University Sign Dual Admission and Transfer Agreement

Jan 09, 2019

Ocean County College and Stockton University have announced a new dual admission and transfer partnership that will facilitate the transition from the two-year school, the main campus of which is in Toms River, to the university, in Galloway Township. The five-year Transfer Pathways agreement provides multiple opportunities for students to seamlessly pursue their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees.

“Ocean County College transfer students have a long record of academic success at Stockton University,” said OCC President Jon Larson. “This partnership is an important step to ensure a smooth transition for our students attending both institutions as they work to earn two degrees.”

As Stockton President Harvey Kesselman noted, “The number of transfer students coming to Stockton from Ocean County continues to grow, with more than 250 enrolled in the Fall 2018 semester. This agreement will provide increased support to students while they are at Ocean County College as well as provide assurance that they can have a smooth pathway to a bachelor’s degree at Stockton.”

Kesselman also pointed out that Stockton’s Manahawkin instructional site already provides convenient access for students living in Ocean County. OCC, too, has a satellite campus – the Southern Education Center – in Manahawkin.  —J.K.-H.
