Online Radio Station Plans Autism Benefit

Mar 13, 2019

Neue Regel Radio, an internet radio station based in Waretown, is conducting an autism fundraiser marathon beginning Friday, March 29, at noon, until Sunday, March 31, at 1 a.m. Station co-owner Chris Presti said proceeds from the sixth annual event will benefit Faces 4 Autism, a support group, and the Children’s Air Ambulance, which takes kids quickly for priority medical care at no charge to families.

“We found out at age 4 that our daughter, Ellen, who is now a 20-year-old college student, had autism spectrum disorder, specifically what they thought was Asperger’s syndrome,” said Presti. “The station is doing the fundraiser to give back to the organization that got them through early childhood and continues to aid, advise and provide activities, education and family support for families in South Jersey (and now through the web and Facebook, all over the world).”

She said the money is raised by listeners and bands requesting music tracks and donating $5 per song through PayPal.

“Those who donate more than $50 will receive a T-shirt and new music merchandise, and those that donate $100 or more will be able to choose a local live music show to get two tickets to see,” said Presti.
