Open Houses Spotlight Kids, Career Programs at Ocean County College

The Department of Continuing and Professional Education at Ocean County College is hosting three different open houses in January, two career-related, and one detailing professional development classes as well as kids and teens programs. All the open houses will be held on OCC’s main campus, on College Drive in Toms River. Admission is free and open to the public.

From 9 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 6, learn about medical coding as a career. “Be a part of the growing health care industry,” the college explained. “This overview will cover training, certifications, online and traditional courses, career paths and a look at ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.” This event will be held in Room A224 of the Grunin Center.

The Jan. 17 open house, from 3 to 6 p.m in Room 002 of the library, will describe the college’s professional development courses; career certificates in health care, business, computers, construction, fire protection and specialized careers; personal interest classes for fun and enrichment; and kids and teens programs. The snow date is Jan. 18.

And, from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 20 in Room A224 of the Grunin Center, OCC offers a career open house on medical billing, coding and health information management. “Be a part of the growing health care industry as a medical biller, coder or HIM specialist,” the college stated. “Find a rewarding job either in a home business or health care facility. Learn how to complete your certificate either online or in a traditional classroom.”
