Plan for Pirates Day in Downtown Barnegat, Sept. 16

Jul 18, 2017

If ever there was a good date to know in advance, it’s the day the pirates are coming to town in Barnegat! Pirates Day 2017 is Saturday, Sept. 16.

Save the date, all day in fact, for the free family fun from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. downtown, and then in the evening at the public dock.

Crafts, merchants, bands, pirate re-enactors and pirate-themed entertainment, food and special activities for kids fill the day. The Kids’ Zone is back, bringing inflatable rides and a trackless train sponsored by Manahawkin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Manahawkin Kia.

Then at 7 p.m. the public dock on East Bay Avenue rocks to the concert of Tommy Edward as “Sir Rod.”

Pirates Day is co-sponsored by the Barnegat-Waretown Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Barnegat Township Recreation Department.

Vendors and community organizations interested in participating, or those needing more information, may contact Jeanne at 609-698-0080, extension 122. A vendor registration form with instructions is on the website at barnegatchamber.com.  —M.S.
