‘Pulled Over’ Educational Film Released by Ocean County Prosecutor

Sep 26, 2018

Outgoing Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato has announced the release of the latest Right Turns Series Educational Film, “Pulled Over.” The eighth film in the series, its target audience is high school juniors and seniors who are just beginning to drive. The film highlights how to act if you get pulled over by a police officer. It walks the viewer through each stop with the goal of demonstrating how a person should properly interact with law enforcement during the encounter.

“By interacting appropriately with law enforcement, the ultimate outcome for each of these encounters is for a safe and peaceful conclusion for both the officer and the person who was stopped,” said Coronato.  “Sometimes new drivers do things unintentionally that may heighten law enforcement’s concern for their safety.”

In addition, Coronato thanked the New Jersey State Police and Donna Setaro for their contributions to this project as they highlighted the New Jersey “Move Over Law.” Donna’s son, Marc Castellano, was a New Jersey state trooper who lost his life in the line of duty when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to move over to give him and fellow officers room to work while they were investigating an incident in Howell Township.

“Since her son’s tragic death, Donna has traveled all over our state and our nation to educate drivers about the ‘Move Over Law,’” he said.
