To the Editor:

The record cold all of us experienced caused water mains and pipes to freeze. The connector in the water main in front of our house froze so there was no water going into the pipes to our house. Starting last Thursday we had little or no water. We called borough hall while the storm was raging to inform them of the problem. Almost immediately the water department showed up to assess the situation.

Although nothing could be done that day, they arrived the next morning to fix the problem. The wind was nasty and the temperature brutal. The fellows spent a good part of the day trying to restore water. They did a temporary fix, but the temperature was too much and our water stopped. Monday morning I called to inform them that water ceased to flow and within a few hours they arrived and finally we have water (so far).

We cannot say enough about the caring, friendly service we received from the water department and borough hall, as well as from the fellows who brought us water.

Thank you so much for your prompt attention.

P.S. The hot shower felt sooo good.
