Rock and Pop Acts Dominate Fall at Grunin Center

Sep 13, 2017

Rock and pop artists take over the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College this fall, beginning with “Rock Star: Supernova” finalist Storm Large on Oct. 1. Tickets are on sale now.

Large shot to national prominence in 2006 on the popular CBS television show. According to OCC, she then “made her debut with the band Pink Martini in 2011, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In fall 2014, Storm released Le Bonheur, a record designed to capture her sublime and subversive interpretations of the American Songbook.”

Large will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. Tickets are $35. (No admittance for children under 12, as the show contains explicit lyrics.)

Additional shows throughout the following months include Herman’s Hermits, starring Peter Noone; the Steven Page and Art of Time Ensemble; and The Young Dubliners.

Performances take place on the main stage of the Grunin Center, on OCC’s main campus in Toms River.

Purchase tickets online at, or visit the campus box office Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 732-255-0500.  —J.K.-H.
