Oct 03, 2018

“Rockabilly Legends,” the concert on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, will move the crowd for the benefit of scholarships for children of military and veterans.

The music by Todd Meredith and the Rave-Ons is presented by the organization Knights For Christ the Healer.

Tickets can be obtained at $29.50 for the 7:30 p.m. performance by calling the Surflight at 609-492-9477.

The band will take listeners back to the birthplace of rock ’n’ roll as it pays tribute to the founders. The tribute starts with “The King,”  Elvis Presley. The audience will be singing along to Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Bill Haley and the Comets, the Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly.

“The purpose of the concert is to raise funds in order to award partial scholarships to students whose parents or guardians honorably served in the U.S. military, and to fund our veterans programs,” said Bill Benedict, of Long Beach Township, president of Knights For Christ the Healer Inc.

Those who want to learn more or become sponsors or donate to the organization can contact Benedict at 973-464-1529.  —M.S.
