Come explore the amazing marine science taking place in your own backyard. On Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Rutgers University Marine Field Station, at 800 Great Bay Blvd. in Little Egg Harbor, will host an open house.

The field station at the end of Great Bay Boulevard, also known as Seven Bridges Road, is located within the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve. Meet Rutgers and JC NERR researchers and scientists, and explore the exciting research happening in the Great Bay/Mullica River estuary and beyond.

If you have ever wondered what happens in the mysterious building at the end of the road, this is your chance to find out. No registration is required for this event. Visitors must walk across the quarter-mile causeway to the building. Boats are not allowed to dock at the field station.

Parking is limited to the side of the road, so be prepared to walk a distance.

Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to tour our marine station in Tuckerton and interact directly with marine scientists and educators. —P.J.
