Ryan Zimmerman’s EP Release Party at Tuckers

Dec 18, 2017

Join roots musician and singer-songwriter Ryan Zimmerman in celebrating the release of his new EP, Ephemeral as a Kiss, on Dec. 22 at Tuckers Tavern in Beach Haven. He’s calling it the Zimmerman Xmas Jam, featuring members of the bands Chevy Lopez, Late Night Episode and other special guests. The party starts at 8.

He recently returned from a fall tour of the Pacific Northwest after a very busy summer, where he shared his genre-bending mix of acoustic funk, reggae, folk, blues, punk rock and Americana with friends old and new. Tour stops included Indie Air Radio with friend Bob Rice in Spokane, Wash.; Coria Winery in Oregon, as well as Portland and Ashwood; Smileys in Bolinas, Calif.; and the Santa Cruz area.

Ephemeral, recorded at Little Eden Studios in Asbury Park, is a small collection of older, personal songs of which Zimmerman feels quite proud. The album cover features some of his dad’s past artwork.

Zimmerman draws his influence from all the greatest guitarists and describes his “windmill” rhythmic guitar style as “reminiscent of Ritchie Havens,” and compares his deep, room-filling voice to that of Mark Sandman.
