Brides-to-Be: Say “I Do” to the 10th annual LBI Region Wedding Road Show, scheduled for Sunday, April 22. This free, award-winning event, organized by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, consists of a self-guided tour through a variety of wedding venues on and near Long Beach Island, with party professionals at the ready to describe how they can help perfect a couple’s nuptials on the Jersey Shore.

“For a decade this event has brought thousands of attendees seeking services and venues for their special day, helping to shape the Long Beach Island region into a true wedding and special event destination,” said Chelsea Pascoe of By the Sea Media. “This year, for its 10th anniversary, the SOCC has expanded the Road Show to highlight more than just wedding planning, and will offer ideas for a variety of party planning needs, from venues to favors and more.

“This complimentary event will feature samples, tastings and many chances to win giveaways. Brides and potential party-throwers will have the opportunity to meet directly with vendors and venue coordinators, enabling them to take advantage of booking right at the event.”

Local establishments opening their doors for this year’s Road Show include: The Surf City Hotel; the Sea Shell Beach Resort in Beach Haven; the Surf City Yacht Club; the Brant Beach Yacht Club; Daymark, in Barnegat Light; and Parker’s Garage in Beach Haven.

The Mainland at the Holiday Inn, in Manahawkin, will be the registration and check-in location, beginning at 9 a.m. The Mainland will provide breakfast and tours of its wedding venue and guest rooms. Registered attendees will be given a map of participating locations and can depart at their leisure for touring and tastings.

Check-in will be open until 1 p.m. The Road Show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“In addition to the many prizes and giveaways, there will be an opportunity for all who complete the entire itinerary to enter to win an anniversary overnight package for a luxury stay at The Mainland,” Pascoe noted.

Media sponsors – including NJWedding.com, Elegant Bridal, Wedding Set Go, Celebrations Guide and B98.5 FM – will also provide swag to Road Show-ers throughout the tour.

Since its inception in 2008, the event has also been supported through a N.J. Division of Travel and Tourism grant, Pascoe pointed out.
