Ship Bottom Man Faces Drug and Weapons Charges

A Ship Bottom man faces a laundry list of charges relating to drugs and guns found at his borough home earlier this week. He was not at home at the time a search warrant was executed at his West Fifth Street residence, according to police.

Walter Harlfinger was arrested in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 29, by Stafford Township police after Ship Bottom police searched his home. They were helped by the Surf City Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff Office’s K-9 Unit.

Police say they confiscated two guns, assorted ammunition, a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine, one digital scale, packaging materials, and a quantity of cash proceeds.

After his arrest by Stafford Township police, he was picked up by Ship Bottom police and then lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

Harlfinger was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon during a controlled dangerous substance offense, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia. G.G.S.
