HOME BASE: Philly and the shore

STYLE: In any given set, be prepared to hear some Tina Turner and Janis Joplin, The Boss, The Supremes, even Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.

LINEUP: Ricky “Shorty” Tisch, vocals, keyboard; John Kern, bass and vocals; Matt Kahn, guitar; Devin Stryker, drums; Dee Farace, lead vocals; Neil (Perkilator) Perkins, trombone; Danny Kern, trumpet; and Nick (Waldo) Clifford, Frank Benjamin, Richie Taz and Kyle Kern, all sax.

FUN FACTS: The band was formed in 2002. Today, two of the horn players are band co-founder John Kern’s sons.

INSIDE TRACK: Having performed in venues small and large, to crowds of 200 to 20,000 from New York to the Florida Keys, the band’s preferred spot to jam remains The Sea Shell in Beach Haven. “For outdoor settings, this is definitely number one,” according to Tisch. “This is the only place where you can sit in the pool, enjoy the band and have a drink. The atmosphere is great. … Our shows are so much fun wherever we go.”
