Southern Ocean Medical Center has moved its mammography services from the hospital to the new Women’s Imaging Center at Health Village Imaging. The center is located in Suite 220 on the second floor in the Hackensack Meridian Health Village at 1301 Route 72 West, Manahawkin.

Health Village Imaging, a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network, celebrated the opening of the Women’s Imaging Center last fall.

Patients will receive the same high-quality care, officials assured. The equipment and the radiologists reading the mammograms are the same.

“Our Women’s Imaging Center offers the latest technology in breast health imaging with 3D mammography, ultrasound and automated breast volume scan,” radiologist Dr. Alicia Daniels said.

Daniels pointed out patients do not have to worry about bringing their records with them to the new location.

“Health Village Imaging has access to your Southern Ocean Medical Center mammograms and breast ultrasounds for the radiologists to provide the comparisons. You do not need to pick up your SOMC records when you make your appointment at HVI.”

Patients can schedule directly with HVI at 609-660-XRAY (9729) or go to the website healthvillageimaging.com.

Breast cancer screenings can detect breast cancer before symptoms develop, healthcare professionals remind. Regular breast exams can find cancer at the earliest, most treatable stages. —M.S.
