Spectacular Show

Jul 26, 2017

To the Editor:

I attended the Tuesday, July 18, 8 p.m. performance of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at Surflight Theatre and found the performance to be quite delightful and entertaining and would like to share my experience with your readers.

The singing soared and was heartfelt, clear and inspiring. It gave me goose bumps. The choreography was intricate, daring and breathtaking. The campy humor, when it occurred, had everyone laughing out loud. The musical score was professionally rendered and maintained just the right balance in support of the acting, dancing and singing taking place on stage. The stage sets were clever and visually appealing without being distracting. The grand finale brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful.

It was a Tuesday night in Beach Haven and the theater was packed. Throughout the show, the audience responded with hearty rounds of applause and cheering. The cast received a rousing standing ovation at the final curtain. It sure seemed as if everyone loved the show. It made for a very enjoyable evening.

The actors, actresses and musicians whom Steve Steiner has brought together for Surflight’s  reopening season appear to be a truly talented and gifted team. Their theatrical experience and dedication to their craft made for an impressive, professional and spectacular performance of “Joseph.”
