The Ocean County Women’s Hall of Fame will soon include efforts of the St. Francis Community Center, the Ocean County College Foundation and the Ocean County Human Services Department.

This year’s induction is a sit-down dinner and gift auction and will be held Thursday, Oct. 26 at The Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, Toms River.

Dinner tickets are $60 and may be purchased online at sitroceancountywomenshalloffame.eventbrite.com. Patrons may also print out the registration form from our website soroptimist-tomsriverarea.org and mail payment.

Soroptimist International of Toms River Area is the organization that announced the honorees for this year’s Ocean County Women’s Hall of Fame celebration.

Heather Barberi, executive director of the Ocean County College Foundation, will receive the Woman of Distinction Award in recognition of her staunch efforts to bring Ocean County leaders together to support education and each other, and to use their skills to mentor young women.

The Advancing the Status of Women Award will be given to Tracy Maksel, director of the Ocean County Human Services Department. The award will recognize her commitment to community mental health, forwarding the status of women, and animal welfare.

St. Francis Community Center will receive the Making a Difference for Women Award for its mission of providing a wide-variety of services and programs.

Created in 2003, the Ocean County Women’s Hall of Fame celebrates the most distinguished and success women in our community and the stellar contributions of agencies who support and advance women and families.
