Stafford PBA Toy Drive Underway Through Dec. 15

Nov 10, 2017

Together, the Stafford Township PBA 297 and Stafford Recreation Department present the 2017 Holiday Toy Drive, an annual tradition dating back 30 years that provides hundreds of local families in need each year with gifts to make the holiday season a little warmer and brighter.

The drive runs from Nov. 6 through Dec. 15 this year. Sought are new, unwrapped gifts for kids from newborn to 18 years of age. Some suggestions are toys, books, craft sets, coats and accessories, movie passes, gift cards and other creative age-appropriate items.

Families in need are referred through local schools, churches and the police department, the Rec Department’s Jennifer McBrien said. Parents provide information about their kids so gifts can be matched up accordingly; cash is used to buy grocery gift cards and for other practical purposes. A coat drive runs concurrently with the toy drive, coordinated through the Stafford Municipal Alliance office.

Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at the Bay Avenue Community Center, located at 775 East Bay Ave.; or any time of the day or night at the police department, located at the municipal complex at 260 East Bay Ave.; or at gift collection boxes at businesses around town. Alternatively, checks may be made out to Stafford PBA 297 Toy Drive.
