Stuff the Bus with School Supplies

Aug 02, 2017

United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties is holding its annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive. On Saturday, Aug. 12 the bus will be at the Manahawkin Walmart from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shoppers are invited to donate new school supplies for distribution to local elementary schools. The drive is sponsored by J.F. Kiely Construction Co. and New Jersey Natural Gas.

“Providing these educational supplies helps support a child’s ability to learn while removing some of the financial burden from both parents and teachers,” said Timothy Hearne, president and CEO of United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. “Donations from the Stuff the Bus drive allow children from low-income households to focus on their assignments instead of worrying about whether they have the tools to complete them.”

People ages 12 and older are invited to volunteer for the event by calling 848-206-2037 or emailing jliguori@ummoc.org—P.J.
