Take Advantage of Upcoming Events at Southern Regional High School

Nov 29, 2017

The holiday season is in full swing at Southern Regional High School, and a pair of upcoming events are sure to give you some Christmas cheer.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the Home and School Association hosts its annual Craft and Vendor Fair in the school’s 9/10 gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the fair, shoppers can purchase gifts from a variety of crafters and vendors as well as enjoy some refreshments. Proceeds from concession sales and vendor fees benefit the Home and School Association, which consists of parents, faculty and administrators focused on benefiting all of the students at Southern through class funding, mini grants for teachers and student scholarships. The high school’s 9/10 gym is best accessed through the entrance on Route 9.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, parents can have some time to themselves to get holiday-related things done when Southern Regional High School’s Future Educators of America hosts Parents Day Out from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Parents Day Out is a time in which children ages 3 to 12 can enjoy crafts, games, cooking, gym time and more in a fun atmosphere.

The advance registration deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 5, and fees are $10 per child and $25 per family. The fees increase to $15 per child and $30 per family on the day of the event, and all activities are held in the 11/12 building on Cedar Bridge Road, Manahawkin. Registration forms are located on Southern Regional’s website, srsd.net; scroll down under “Latest Information.” For more information, contact Catherine Latshaw at clatshaw@srsd.net. —D.B.
