Thanks for Caring

May 24, 2017

To the Editor:

In response to the letter last week from Dr. Zelles (“Driven Out of Work”):

Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone about the way you were also treated by the state Department of Transportation. You make me feel as though I am hitting my head against a brick wall, but I feel they have gone to the extreme by sending me to N.A. and A.A. meetings as though I am a drug or alcohol addict. This is abusing my personal privacy.

I have contacted one of our local state representatives only to receive a letter stating: “Mrs. Peraria, although we regret what has happened to you, it is inappropriate for our delegation to provide any legal referrals to you on this matter.” So much for their help. It seems everyone is afraid of the state of New Jersey. Maybe one of the 5,000 students I have transported to school has turned out to be a lawyer and will come to my aid.

Thank you, Dr. Z, for caring about me.

Doris Peraria
