Tuckerton Real Estate Office Hosts ‘Home for the Dogs Project’ Oct. 13

Adoptable Pets Will Be There
Oct 08, 2018

Meet irresistible pets at the Home for the Dogs Project taking place Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Tuckerton at Coldwell Banker Riviera Realty/The BayShore Team. The event, outside the real estate office at 600 North Green St., is for the benefit of two rescue organizations, Kimmy’s Safe Haven and Furry Angels.

Adoptable dogs and kittens will be there, and so will food and refreshments for sale as a fundraiser. Caring folks can also donate items (listed below) to help the organizations.

“It’s for a good cause; it’s a family event,” said Tricia Horner of Coldwell Banker Riviera Realty/The BayShore Team. “We’re going to be selling hot dogs, drinks, some refreshment, lollipops, for a minimal donation, and the money raised is all going to the two puppy rescues.”

This is the first year the real estate firm has held the Home for the Dogs Project, and it comes from good experiences that associates have had with the rescue groups.

In the office on North Green Street, collections have already begun to gather supplies for the rescue organizations. People attending on Oct. 13 can bring them then, too, as Horner explained.

“We have a doghouse here in the office where we’re taking donations of blankets, doggie chews, collars, leashes, dog food, cat food ... they don’t want big quilts or comforters, but they want sheets and soft blankets,” Horner relayed. The flier for the event adds that cleaning supplies for the rescue centers are appreciated.

Any fees and processes for adoptions of the animals are not part of the hosting real estate office’s project.

“There is a fee involved with adoption, but that’s between the two rescues; we won’t get involved with that,” Horner noted.

Those interested can learn more about Kimmy’s Safe Haven and Furry Angels by going to their social media pages.

Coldwell Banker Riviera Realty/The BayShore Team says on the event flier, “We work hard to help find you a home; now it’s your turn to help man’s best friend find his.”  —M.S.
