Two Local Businesses Accepting Donations for Hurricane Florence Relief

Sep 18, 2018

Almost six years after Superstorm Sandy made landfall, local residents aren’t forgetting the kindness and generosity of others who helped them get back on their feet. They’ve already begun gathering donations for delivery to the Carolinas and those impacted by Hurricane Florence.

Stafford Teachers and Residents, START, which formed in the aftermath of Sandy and donated supplies to Hurricane Harvey victims last year, is helping coordinate the efforts. The community organization is collecting personal hygiene items, gift cards, demolition supplies, cleaning supplies, trash bags, masks, gloves, batteries, baby items and emergency supplies.

Items can be dropped off on the Island at Bowker’s Spray Beach Deli, 2611 Long Beach Blvd., Spray Beach, and on the mainland at Shore Fire Grille, 657 East Bay Ave., Manahawkin, from now until the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 21.
