Passersby in the Ocean Acres section, and those on their way to medical appointments nearby, have been wondering for several years what would go into a building at the intersection of Nautilus Drive and Route 72 West in Stafford Township that has stood empty since interest by a drugstore chain did not materialize.

The answer is a Vascular and Vein Center that is part of the hospital system a block away.

“Hackensack Meridian Health secured a long-term lease in 2017 for the building on Nautilus Drive and Route 72 to further develop Southern Ocean Medical Center’s medical services to meet the needs of the community,” confirmed Anne Green, public relations manager for Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center.

“Construction is currently underway to build a Vascular and Vein Center and relocate the medical center’s practices of Dr. Jeffery Hager, Dr. Matthew Samra, and Dr. Arthur DeMarsico to this location in the coming months.”  —M.S.
