Summer is almost here, which means it’s time to cast votes for New Jersey’s best beaches. N.J. Sea Grant Consortium’s annual online poll is open now, at surveymonkey.com/r/favbeach2018.

The survey, originally called N.J.’s Top 10 Beaches, was started in 2008 to encourage stewardship, pride and camaraderie – and some friendly competition – among the most beloved shore towns, and it has become a presummer activity for residents and visitors alike. Recently the poll, now in its 10th year, was rebranded N.J.’s Favorite Beaches “to diversify results so that all areas of the Garden State’s gorgeous oceanfront were recognized,” the consortium explained.

The poll lists municipalities from throughout the state’s four coastal counties – Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean. In the Ocean County category, voters can choose from the following Long Beach Island communities: Barnegat Light, Beach Haven, Harvey Cedars, Ship Bottom, Surf City and the Brant Beach and Loveladies sections of Long Beach Township.

NJSGC will announce the category winners around the July 4th holiday.

“An ‘overall’ victor is still announced” as well, said the consortium, “and Ocean City has remained undefeated champ over the past decade. But will that impressive winning streak end this year? You decide!”
